Technologies and Storm Internet Wireless Solutions
Storm Internet and Building
Technologies Team up to Provide HighSpeed Internet to 'Smart-Apartments'
in Ottawa
Storm Internet has introduced a new 'Smart-Apartment' project for bringing affordable and convenient broadband Internet connectivity to multi-tenant dwellings across the region using highspeed wireless technology. This initiative enables landlords to increase revenues and property value by providing building occupants with highspeed access to the Internet through value-added services.
Today, Storm announced it is working with multi-tenant integrator Building Technologies Inc. to implement broadband solutions for apartment building owners and condominium corporations for providing residents with reliable, cost-effective, highspeed Internet access.
"Having a multi-tenant Internet connectivity solution has proven to be a win-win situation for our company", said Frank McDonald, President of Frank McDonald Property Management Inc. "Our tenants now have access to first class, state-of-the-art broadband connectivity, while we increase the value of our property. Thanks to the Building Technologies/Storm Internet team, broadband will now be part of basic building infrastructure."
Storm Internet works with several local companies to deliver innovative Internet solutions for business and residential clients in urban and rural Ottawa. Storm Internet has connected several existing buildings across Ottawa using a cost-effective point-to-point wireless network, alleviating the need for deploying expensive wireline services typically associated with building Internet infrastructure.
"Storm welcomes the opportunity to work with companies like Building Technologies to expand broadband Internet access to users throughout the region," said Barry Williams, President of Storm Internet. "Over the last several months, we have continued to keep our 'Internet Freedom' promise by expanding our service to include solutions from our many partners. For the last couple of years we have been in the forefront of connecting communities around the region. Now we are building on that success by connecting mini-communities within multi-tenant buildings."
